NSF I-Corps: Cutting Tool Wear Monitoring Sensor (Team #1564)

We were teamed up with EL (Mr. Jaemin Han), Co-EL (Mr. Mike Ortiz), IM (Mr. Ubaldo Lopez) and TL (Dr. ChaBum Lee) for the customer development toward commercialization of cutting tool wear monitoring sensor that were developed by Dr. Lee and his students in his lab. We participated in I-Corps meeting held in Nashville, TN, and did the customer development for 7 weeks. We interviewed more than 100 people in academia, industry and national labs worldwide. Here’s our outcome.

Precision Engineering Internship Program

This program will provide an intensive two-week learning experience for students who have little-to-no prior experience with precision engineering subjects such as machine design, metrology, calibration, sensors, and instrumentation. This activity is scheduled in May every year, but this schedule is subject to change due to lab schedule. If you are interested in this activity, please contact Dr. Lee via email: cblee@tamu.edu.
